No ticket for Lynne Cantwell

Sir, – I was genuinely astounded when reading Gerry Thornley's timeline piece in Sports Weekend (March 24th) that Lynne Cantwell, the "most capped Ireland women's player of all time" could not get a ticket for the Grand Slam decider in Twickenham and instead listened to it in her car just a stone's throw away.

I am not writing this as an outraged woman, but as a sports fan who is genuinely disappointed that someone who excelled in her given sport was forgotten about so easily. Ashamed is perhaps more fitting than disappointed. – Yours, etc,

RACHEL SCOTT ,
