Phoning local branch of bank

Sir, – Fiona Reddan tells us that "customers of Bank of Ireland will not be able to phone their local branch for everyday enquiries" from February 13th ("Bank of Ireland intends to hang up on customer queries", February 6th). She does not state the year, but in my experience this policy has been in place for at least two years and possibly more. – Yours, etc,
