Sir,– It is interesting to note that on the same day that your newspaper contained an editorial bemoaning the fact that a two-tier recovery has neglected rural Ireland (September 1st), Fintan O'Toole sees fit to admonish a free global advert for the sublime landscapes of Kerry ("Beyond belief – why grant Disney's Skelligs wish for Star Wars?", Opinion & Analysis).
Sometimes I wonder if the monks went to the Skelligs to escape an early medieval Dublin media. – Yours, etc,
JOHN McNAMARA,

Sir, – I am fine with the decision to allow Disney to film Star Wars on Skellig Michael, provided that, in return, Brendan O'Carroll be allowed to make the sequel to the Mrs Brown's Boys movie at a Unesco World Heritage Site in the United States.
Using the ancient Taos Pueblo community of the Tiwa-speaking Native American Puebloan people as a location should just about even it up.
I look forward to the National Guard of New Mexico showing up to protect “Mammy” for free. – Yours, etc,
ULTAN Ó BROIN,
South Circular Road,
Dublin 8.
Sir, – “There’s nothing we won’t sell, no line we won’t cross, no aspect of our heritage that is not available for exploitation”. Once again, Fintan O’Toole bludgeons his latest hobby horse with hyperbole. His inevitable propensity to extrapolate a specific grievance into a general condemnation of the nation is tiresome and counter-productive. He cries “wolf” too often. – Yours, etc,
PETER MOLLOY,
Glenageary,
Co Dublin.
