Sir, – Shame on the IRFU! When will they treat our national women’s rugby team with the respect they deserve?
This group of women have beaten the All Blacks, they have won the Six Nations Trophy. They have brought nothing but skill, commitment and sporting prowess to the game and pride to their country.
It is high time they were accommodated in an appropriate stadium. This is one of our national teams, they represent us, are they not good enough to play in Donnybrook or the RDS?
Surely they deserve to play in a stadium where the lights work and the seating arrangements are adequate for fans?
I thought that one of the recent areas of interest for our health services was in tackling obesity?
These young women are role models for young girls all around the country, training hard, maintaining high fitness levels and on an amateur basis while also holding down full-time jobs.
It is a strange message to be sending to the young sports people in Ireland. Apparently our women succeeding at the highest level is not as important as our men’s success. – Mise le Meas, ANN McCOURT, Blackrock, Co Dublin.
