Limerick look too strong for Antrim

Home form to give them the edge

More ridiculous, unnecessary messing with team selection leaves us in the dark regarding Liam "Baker" Bradley's Antrim line-up.

Buying a programme is a waste of money in Limerick as it will show eight changes from the 15 that Donegal beat 3-16 to 0-12 on June 22nd.

“That actually isn’t the team,” said Bradley. “We had to submit a team for the programme and that probably shouldn’t have been released.”

Human error can happen but it does indicate a deeper rooted organisational problem for GAA headquarters.

Donegal brushed them aside in Ulster, and while Limerick were well beaten by Tipperary, there is enough about them – with John Galvin, Ian Ryan and fit again captain Seánie Buckley on show – to win at home.

Then again, there has to be more to Antrim than what we saw the last day and Limerick are not the force they threatened to be a few years ago when Galvin was in his prime. However, to stumble now would require a performance below their expected standard.

Whichever side progresses, they still look like qualifier fodder.
