Fergal Horgan to referee All-Ireland hurling final

Fergal Horgan has been appointed to referee Limerick and Cork in what will be his third All-Ireland hurling final. The Tipperary official also took charge of last year's winter final between Limerick and Waterford and previously the 2017 final between Galway and Waterford.

It means that Horgan and Wexford referee James Owens have been appointed to six of the last seven All-Ireland finals, and on Sunday week Owens is the standby referee.

In this year’s championship Horgan took charge of last Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final between Cork and Kilkenny, the Leinster semi-final between Kilkenny and Wexford (both of which went to extra-time) and the round one qualifier between Wexford and Clare.

The umpires will be Horgan's Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams club-mates, Alan Horgan, Mick Butler, and Seán Bradshaw and John Ryan from Cashel King Cormacs.
