Leona Maguire six strokes off the lead in New Jersey

Maguire cards a second round of 70 as Korean duo share the lead on 11 under par

England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff is clinging onto contention at the ShopRite LPGA Classic after a mixed second round pushed her out of the lead in New Jersey.

Ewart Shadoff carded a six under 65 on Friday to head into the weekend at the top of the leaderboard alongside South Korea’s So Yeon Ryu.

However, she was unable to replicate her bogey-free opening round on Saturday, splitting five bogeys with four birdies and an eagle to finish one under par.

Ewart Shadoff was four shots back from South Korean pair Jin Young Ko and Inbee Park, who share the lead on 11 under.

Ireland’s Leona Maguire meanwhile is six strokes off the lead after she carded a second round of 70, to follow her opening effort of 67.

Maguire made four birdies and dropped three strokes on Saturday, with two bogeys and two birdies in her final six holes making for a rollercoaster finish to her round.
