Winger cited over alleged dangerous tackle in win away to Edinburgh

Munster winger Gerhard van den Heever will face a Pro 12 disciplinary committee hearing on Wednesday in relation to an alleged dangerous tackle in the match against Edinburgh at Murrayfield last Saturday.

The South Africa-born player received a yellow card from referee David Wilkinson for the tackle in the 14th minute of the game, which Munster went on to win 16-14.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh secondrow Fraser McKenzie has lodged an appeal against the length of his two-week suspension for dangerously charging an opponent in the Pro 12 defeat to Connacht at The Sportsground in Galway on October 31st.

McKenzie’s hearing will also take place on Wednesday.
