In an approach which perhaps both reflects their experimental attitude to their fixtures with the Irish provinces and their inability to hit on a winning formula, the Scottish Districts again ring the changes for the second and last brace of these matches.

Edinburgh Reivers make four alterations from the side which lost 27-22 to Munster for tonight's meeting with Leinster in Kelso (7.0). Hugh Gilmour, an original selection against Munster who succumbed to 'flu, returns for Scott Hastings, while Tony Stanger makes his seasonal reappearance on the right wing, with Cammie Murray switching to the centre, and captain Alain Tait goes to his Lions position on the left wing for the demoted John Kerr.

The talented Duncan Hodge, one of seven internationals in their starting line-up, plays in place of Scott Welsh, while props Ross McNulty and Barry Stewart replace Peter Wright and Matt Proudfoot.

Glasgow Caledonians make 10 changes in all for their game against Connacht at Bridgehaugh, Stirling (7.0). Notably, two Scottish internationals, winger James Craig and hooker Kevin McKenzie, return from injury, as well as their prolific and prodigious Cook Island out-half Tommy Hynes.
