Shelbourne adapted better to the difficult conditions at Tolka Park last night to go through to next Sunday's FAI super cup final at Richmond Park. They took the lead on 12 minutes when Bray's keeper John Walsh failed to properly collect a cross from Neil Ogden.

There to convert was striker Gary Haylock, now in his second spell with the club. The second goal on 70 minutes had a similar look to it with Haylock rifling in a fierce shot from outside the box, and Walsh could only deflect the ball into the path of Ogden who duly obliged.

The game saw both teams finish with 10 men. Maurice Farrell was first to go for Bray on 65 minutes and then shortly before the end Shelbourne centre-half Pat Scully was also given his marching orders by Dublin referee John McDermott.
