Jonathan Walters isn't a man to mess with on the field, nor is he off it.

Responding to England captain Wayne Rooney's comments about him being a player who will "try to intimidate players" - in true Stoke City, and Irish fashion. He did not hold back.

Asked earlier in the week what players have got under his skin in the past, Rooney named Walters and former Wales striker Craig Bellamy -

“In all the games I’ve played over the years in the Premier League, there’s not been much, probably Craig Bellamy the only one,” said Rooney.

“Jon Walters a bit. They are the only two who try to speak to players and try to intimidate players. I can’t recall anyone else doing it.”

Walters though isn’t one to be outdone, responding with what is undoubtedly the tweet of the tournament so far.

Rooney’s noticeably wrinkle-free forehead has raised many an eyebrow throughout the competition - and Walters for one is pretty sure he knows why.
