Under-21 Tony O'Neill Cup final/UCD 0 St Patrick's Ath 0 (aet:UCD win 4-2 on pens):The final game to be played at Belfield Park prior to its demolition saw UCD capture the Dr Tony O'Neill Cup for the third successive time. This was the last time the competition will be played under its current format. From next year the league will introduce the A championship and Under-20 league.

Chances were few and far between with UCD carving out the majority that arose. The first of these came on 35 minutes with St Patrick's impressive left full Anton Costigan getting in an important block on Brian King.

And then on the hour mark, UCD winger Timmy Purcell teased his way past a defender before sending in a cross from the right. Stanley Rojack flicked on and when the ball came back to Purcell he unleashed a terrific shot which grazed the bottom upright.

The students had chances to win the game with full-time approaching but on three separate occasions striker Paul Byrne failed to find the target .
