Sky Stream: Ditch the dish and still have access to Sky’s TV channels

When Sky launched its Sky Glass TV, the idea was to offer another way to get Sky’s pay TV services into your home, opening it up to those people who couldn’t – or wouldn’t – have a dish on their property. The service uses the internet instead to bring Sky’s TV channels to your home. With that came the Sky streaming pucks, the multi-room TV option in a small box that could be attached to any TV.

Which raised the question: why not just offer the streaming pucks to users instead of the full Sky Glass TV? Well, now Sky does, through its new Sky Stream service. It comes straight to your TV over wifi – so you’ll need a decent internet connection – and it costs from €30 a month.

It is flexible – either a cancellable plan or one with a 12-month term – and when you order, the Stream puck arrives quickly. Sky Stream uses the same Sky Glass interface, and you have access to sports, cinema and entertainment channels, alongside streaming services such as Netflix, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, Disney+, RTÉ Player, All4, YouTube, Discovery+, Peacock, Paramount+, Fiit and so on, subject to some extra fees. You can also get up to five extra Sky Stream devices for an additional €20 a month.
