GOLDEN DISCS, the music retail chain, has recorded a 150 per cent increase in profit after tax to £16,000 in the year to March 31st, 1925. This increase arose against a background of intense competition from British multiples, according to a statement from the company. However, Golden Discs, which has 28 outlets, said it had maintained its position in the market.
Mr Tony Killoran, the group's executive director, noted it has continued to invest heavily in developing its network. Unit sales, he added, increased substantially but these have not been quantified.
