NINETEEN per cent of all Irish adults now have access to a home computer, according to Apple.

Three per cent of these adults acquired their computers within the past 12 months. The Irish computer market is entering a phase of significant growth, according to the company.

Apple Computer Sales Ireland yesterday launched a marketing drive aimed at positioning its Irish made Power Macintosh Performa systems as the computer of choice across a wide range of key business markets.

Apple's Irish based marketing subsidiary this month reported the highest year end revenues achieved by the company since 1983. Revenues were up by 30 per cent on last year.
