KPMG Ireland has appointed Ryan McCarthy as its next managing partner. Mr McCarthy is an audit partner and will take up the role in May 2025, succeeding Seamus Hand in the post.
Partners at the Big Four firm voted on the managing partner role on Saturday. Mr Hand had led the firm since 2018, being re-elected for a second term in 2021.
Mr McCarthy joined KPMG in 1996 and has led its commercial industrial markets audit business for the past six years. In a statement, KPMG said he had been a member of its audit executive team and led the establishment of its board leadership centre, a forum developed to support non-executive directors in exploring boardroom challenges and driving board agendas.
Mr Hand described Mr McCarthy as a “fantastic leader in our audit business”.
