Ikea has announced seven new click-and-collect sites that will allow customers to pick up their orders from their local Tesco Ireland car park.
Ikea and Tesco Ireland’s collaboration aims to make Ikea’s product range more accessible and give customers a more sustainable delivery option.
The seven new sites will be at Tesco stores across six counties – Louth, Westmeath, Kerry, Wicklow, Mayo and Dublin.
The collection points allow customers to pick up their Ikea orders for free if the order is for more than €200. Orders under €200 will cost an extra €15 for pickup.
Following a pilot programme in Cork, Louth and Kildare in May 2023, the new service has experienced “phenomenal engagement”, leading to expansion to 21 locations nationwide, Ikea said.
The seven locations being added are in Dundalk, Mullingar, Killarney, Arklow, Bray, Castlebar and Liffey Valley.
When placing an order online, customers will go through the usual checkout option and select the collection service at their local Tesco.
Signage in the Tesco car parks will guide customers to a designated pick up point at their chosen date and time, where they will meet a delivery driver who will hand their order over to them.
Ikea market manager in Ireland, Jayne Owen-Gauld, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with Tesco Ireland, which has allowed us to bring convenient and affordable collection services, including our highly successful click-and-collect option, to customers across key locations.
“The positive reception has been fantastic, resulting in us expanding the service to seven more communities. Coupled with our free delivery option for orders over €200, we’re making shopping with us easier and more rewarding than ever.”
Tesco Ireland country operations manager Darrin Honer said: “We’re pleased to expand our partnership with Ikea Ireland to introduce new pickup points in more of our car parks across the country.

Are we at the beginning of Donald Trump’s global trade war?
“Some months into this partnership, we are seeing just how convenient this offering is for customers, who are pairing picking up their Ikea order with doing their weekly shop or picking up their click-and-collect order.”
Ikea said the expansion of the service was the latest in a “series of investments” demonstrating its “long-term commitment” to the Irish market.
Ikea has opened a 450,000 sq ft customer distribution centre in West Dublin over the past year, creating more than 120 jobs and enabling faster online order processing.
