BANK of Ireland Asset Management's British arm has won the mandate for £27 million sterling of Lincolnshire County Council pension fund. The funds will be invested in equities in the Far East excluding Japan, a county council official stated.

This is BIAM's second mandate for Lincolnshire, having managed £40 million sterling of European equities, excluding Britain, for the past two years, BIAM managing director Francis Ellison said, BIAM has £13.2 billion sterling under management.

Meanwhile, Bank of Ireland has completed the first SET Internet transaction using a credit card in Ireland.

SET (secure electronic transaction) is the international standard being developed by Visa international to facilitate totally secure electronic credit card payments via the Internet.
