A significantly increased level of inspections and enforcement by the Building Control Authorities on sites is necessary, Mr Joe McDonnell, chairman of the Building Materials Federation said yesterday.

Speaking at the Building Materials Federation a.g.m., Mr McDonnell, said enforcement statistics for the year showed a considerable drop on 1998.
