Shannon Commercial Properties has embarked on a €6 million extension to the plant occupied by GE Measurement & Control at Shannon Free Zone. The US multinational is to move into a 9,290sq m (100,000sq ft) facility, two-thirds bigger than their existing building. The company employs 177 people in the manufacturing of environmental analysers for moisture, combustion, oxygen and thermal conductivity. It is the first major investment as part of a €21 million programme of new builds and upgrades in the Shannon Free Zone.
