The 19th century Edmondstown Mill, listed for preservation beside the Owendoher river on Edmondstown Road in Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, goes on sale today through DNG New Homes and Development at a guide price of €1 million.
It is one of the most interesting redevelopment opportunities to have come on the market in south Dublin in recent years.
The mill complex comprises several multiple-bay, three-storey buildings which were most recently used as an engineering works and chemical factory.
The complex is located opposite the entrance to Edmondstown Golf Club just 3km from Rathfarnham village. It is also adjacent to exit 12 on the M50 (Knocklyon) and is about 10km from Dublin city centre.
The mill stands on a site extending to 0.63 of a hectare (1.56 acres) and according to DNG would suit a medium-density residential development.
The mill was one of several on the river and as the only surviving one is of considerable historical importance. It retains most of its original features, most notably its small pane windows.
