THE failed multi million pound Tramore tourist attraction, Celtworld, has been sold to a Cork based property developer, Mr P J Hegarty, for a fraction of its original cost. It has been confirmed that The Mythology Centre, which collapsed last September with losses of over £4 million, has been sold for £442,500.

Mr Hegarty will take over the 20,000 square foot premises on May 1st although the sale will not be finalised until the end of June. It is not known if Celtworld will open this summer with the same Celtic theme or whether an alternative use will be found for the premises.

Mr Hegarty has already purchased a substantial amount of land in the area. Earlier this year he purchased the land around the Celtworld site as well as a nearby holiday homes complex.
