As part of a vicious cost-cutting campaign, the Central Statistical Office in London is to stop serving tea and biscuits at its economic briefings for analysts and journalists, while the traditional glass of wine at "very important" briefings has also been cancelled. At least they should have no trouble counting up the savings.
