The High Court has temporarily restrained insurance brokers Jardine Lloyd Thompson Ireland Ltd from dismissing its operations director, Mr Tom Glennane.

Mr Mark Connaughton, counsel for Mr Glennane, told Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns that his client had been employed by the company for almost a year and that, on July 30th - only a fortnight before he was due to receive the protection of the Unfair Dismissals Acts - he had been told his services were no longer required by the company.
