Exploration company Conroy Gold and Natural Resources has extended its gold interests in Cavan with the discovery of a series of further gold-in-soil targets, the company said in a statement.
The company said that two new targets, which are each over 3km in length, were discovered within the Slieve Glah area of Co Cavan.
Anomalous gold values of over 300ppb (parts per billion) Au were recorded according to the company. In Ireland, gold values over 100ppb Au are considered highly anomalous.
Company chairman Professor Richard Conroy described the results as "very exciting".
"They add, not only to the prospectivity of the very large targets at Slieve Glah but to the entire 30 mile gold trend that the Company has discovered all lying within the Company’s licence area."
