The euro bounced back above 86 US cents yesterday and the dollar tested the downside against major currencies on concerns over the weakening economies of emerging markets worldwide, dealers said.

The single European currency traded for 0.8606 dollars from 0.8556 overnight in New York. The dollar also fell back to 124.15 yen from 125.41 yen overnight. --(AFP)
