A BARINGS Bank executive. claiming a £500,000 sterling bonus despite her sacking over the Nick Leeson disaster, yesterday agreed she would not have been promised a penny if her bosses knew what was happening in Singapore. Ms Mary Walz (36), who was the Bishopsgate bank's Global Head of Equity Financial Products, is hoping an industrial tribunal will agree the bonus should be paid. She told the Stratford tribunal she was not directly responsible for Leeson, whose unlawful trading broke Barings merchant bank.
