Bank of Ireland confirmed yesterday that the sale of its US-based foreign currency business to rival Wells Fargo has been completed.

The disposal of Foreign Currency Exchange Corporation was announced in May. As it formed formed part of the bank’s restructuring plan, approval was required from the European Commission. The bank confirmed yesterday that all regulatory conditions have now been satisfied.

FCE is based in Orlando, Florida, and provides foreign currency services to banks in north America.
