Ka: £7,250
Fiesta: £7,970
Ford is offering scrappage deals on its Escort, Fiesta and Ka models. The Fiesta has been the most popular in the scheme so far, although the biggest discount, more than £3,000, is available on the Escort, which is being sold for £9,480.
The Ka has been discounted by more than £2,000 and now sells at £7,250, while the Fiesta is priced at £7,970. Included in all offers is one year's free membership of the Royal Automobile Club (RAC).
Special finance packages are arranged through Ford Credit and the exact deal is decided on a person-by-person basis. Ford does not offer any free road tax or insurance, describing its offer as "good enough as it is".
Toyota Starlet: £10,860
Toyota is is offering its three-door Starlet at a specially reduced scrappage price of £10,860, which is about £2,000 cheaper than usual. A finance deal is also available involving repayments of £98 a month, compared to about £140 a month normally.
Toyota does not offer any free insurance or road tax and a deposit of £1,990 is required. After three years of repayments, a customer can choose to continue the repayments or can put down a final payment of £5,930 to buy the car outright.
Renault Clio Surprize: £7,750
The scrappage deal on offer from Renault is on its five-door Clio Surprize. . It costs customers £199 per month under Renault's special offer and there are no repayments for the first six months.
The deal on the Clio means the customer's road tax is paid for the first 18 months. In addition, Renault does not require any deposit or any final payment.
The car is being sold at £7,750 until the end of the year, compared to its normal price of £9,750.
Under the special finance deal the car will end up costing £9,552, which represents an APR of 8.8 per cent.
Nissan Primera: £12,995
Almera: £9,625
Micra: £7,495
Nissan has marketed its scrappage offer more aggressively than any other manufacturer in recent weeks.
The main element of the package for its three models - the Micra, the Almera and the Primera - is free insurance with Hibernian Insurance.
However, this does not apply to drivers below the age of 30 or over 69. Customers must also have a minimum of four years no claims bonus and buyers of 2.0 litre cars are not included.
In terms of discounts, Nissan is offering £3,000 off the Primera, which now costs £12,995. The same discount is being offered off the Almera, which retails at £9,625, while the Micra has been discounted by £2,000 and costs £7,495.
Peugeot
Peugeot 106: £7,400
The main scrappage deals being offered by Peugeot centre around the popular 106, although discounts are available on the other models, like the 306 and 406.
The most attractive element of Peugeot's scrappage deal is that there are no repayments for the first six months if a buyer opts for Peugeot's finance package.
Aside from this, there is at least £1,150 off every new car purchased under the scrappage scheme, and the reduction is larger for the 306 and 406.
A Peugeot 106 which would normally cost about £9,500 can be bought for about £7,400 until the end of the year.
Fiat Marea: £11,500
Bravo and Brava: £499 for 12 months offer
Fiat is making a general scrappage offer on its Bravo and Brava models, while other dealers are discounting on the Marea too.
The deal for the Marea is mainly being offered by dealers in Dublin and involves the basic model being discounted by £2,000, selling at £11,500.
The Marea 1.9 TD SX 75 normally sells at £14,500, but until the end of the year it is priced at £11,500.
In the case of the Bravo or Brava a special finance deal allows customers who pay a £499 deposit, a 12month payment free period.
After this the customer must decide between handing back the car, paying the balance with no interest charge or financing it over the following 30month period with an APR of 9 per cent.
Fiat sales have benefited significantly from the scrappage scheme - particularly the Cinquecento.
