The Fortune 500 company CVS Caremark Corporation is to create 100 additional jobs in Belfast.

The US company, which is the largest pharmacy healthcare provider in America, established an information systems development centre in the city in 2012, which initially employed 50 people. The centre develops software for all parts of the US company but has a particular focus on internet and mobile applications.

Ronan O’Loan, CVS Caremark’s senior vice-president of talent and organisational effectiveness, said today the organisation had discovered a “source of great IT talent” in Northern Ireland and as a result now planned to expand its operation.

The North's Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster said the decision by the company to reinvest reflects the performance of its Belfast centre.
