DCC chief executive Tommy Breen received a total remuneration package of €4.462 million last year, down from €4.779 million in 2015.
The slight decline in Mr Breen’s total package reflected a drop in remuneration to him under the company’s long-term incentive programme from €2.976 million in 2015 to €1.913 million last year, according to the company’s annual report. His basic salary increased 3.1 per cent to €737,000, while his bonus increased to €884,000, from €532,000 the previous year. Mr Breen received €93,000 in benefits and €835,000 in retirement benefit expense, ahead of €468,000 in 2015.
DCC’s chief financial officer, Fergal O’Dwyer, received remuneration of €2.401 million, down from €2.486 million in 2015. He had remuneration of €979,000 under the long-term incentive programme, down from €1.417 million and a salary of €453,000. Donal Murphy, head of DCC Energy, had a package of €2.037 million, down from €2.276 million.
Total remuneration to the three executives under the company’s long-term incentive programme fell from €5.8 million in 2015 to €3.826 million last year.
Company chairman John Moloney received total fees of €225,000, a sharp increase from €144,000 in 2015. Total non-executive directors' fees rose from €664,000 to €736,000.
