Irish households are wasting over £1,000 each year through energy inefficiency, research by the Irish Energy Centre has shown, and beginning this Sunday consumers will be encouraged to take steps to make savings on their energy bills.

Energy Awareness Week runs from Sunday 24th to Sunday 30th of September and during that time promotions will be running in all major retailers of domestic goods. Now is a good time to avail of discounts on alternative light bulbs (CFLs), lagging jackets and larger energy-efficient appliances.
