The first of two exchanges which will give Irish companies access to high-speed communications, is to begin operations in CityWest Digital Park in June. According to the Minister for Public Enterprise, Ms O'Rourke, the new facility will help drive down access prices to bandwidth, and improve the efficient exchange of electronic data.

The Department of Public Enterprise and IDA Ireland have signed an agreement for TeleCity, - a British-based company, - to provide local companies early access to Global Crossing's international bandwidth.
