ESAT Telecom has announced further changes to its senior management team, with three new appointments.

Ms Eugenie Houston is taking up the position of director of human resources. She was formerly human resources manager at UPS and also spent a number of years with Morgan Stanley in London.

Ms Lucy Gaffney has been appointed director of marketing. She worked as a marketing consultant to the company during its bid for the second mobile phone licence and its subsequent launch.

The company has also announced that Mr David Mee will retain his position as managing director of EUnet Ireland, which was acquired last month by Esat. All three people will be working closely with Esat's recently appointed chief operations officer, Mr Sean Corkery.

Elan Corporation has announced the appointment of Ms Mary K Predergast to the position of executive vice-president, government affairs.

Ms Prendergast joins the company from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the US regulatory agency, where she was deputy commissioner/ senior adviser to the commissioner.

The Dublin-based IT consultancy group, Vision, has appointed Mr Saiid Ordibehesht as director with responsibility for operations in the Republic of Ireland.

Mr Ordibehesht has previously worked with Cara Data Processing as software development manager; he has also worked for a number of IT consulting companies.

Bank of Ireland has announced the appointment of Mr Tom Comerford as managing director of Bank of Ireland Finance, with effect from the New Year.

Mr Comerford joined Bank of Ireland Finance in 1995 from Lombard & Ulster as strategic marketing manager and was appointed marketing director earlier this year.

Mr Michael Moran has been appointed president of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Republic of Ireland branch.

Mr Moran is a director of the corporate legal advisory services division of KPMG.

Ms Rosaleen Thomas has joined the management team of Bootstrap Datacomms, the Dublin-based computer network integration specialists, as services manager.

Ms Thomas joined Bootstrap four years ago, having previously worked with Sagami.

Mr John Kinder, managing director of ED & F Man Sugar, has been appointed as a non-executive director of Greencore, replacing Mr Jack Stakelum.

Mr Kinder has been co-opted onto the board, after Mr Stakelum, a one-time accountant for former Taoiseach, Mr Charles Haughey, decided not to go forward for re-election.

Three people have joined the IT Recruitment division of Collins McNicholas. They are Ms Edel O'Brien, who will work in the Cork office, Ms Regina Spollen, who will work in Galway and Mr Paul McNamara, who will be based in Dublin.

Ark Life, AIB's Life and Pensions company, has announced the appointment of Mr Gerry Byrne as its new managing director.

Mr Byrne joined the bank in 1973 and has previously worked in a number of senior positions in both branch and commercial banking.
