CONTRARY to market speculation last week that changes in EU quotas would affect the banana market, a spokeswoman for Fyffes said there had been no changes in quotas since January 1995. The changes occurred in 1995 when Sweden, Austria and Finland joined the EU. The increase was to take account of the tonnage they imported, she explained.
