DUBLIN-BASED Beauchamps Solicitors has acquired Landwell Solicitors, the Irish branch of the international network of corporate law firms connected to accounting group PwC.

The enlarged firm will operate as Beauchamps Solicitors, with three partners and five solicitors moving across.

This will give Beauchamps 25 partners, 70 solicitors and 115 staff in total. The firm will be based at Beauchamps offices on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin’s docklands.

Landwell has operated in Ireland since 1999. It was part of a network of law firms that claims to be one of the top four largest providers of legal services to organisations around the world.

Beauchamps’s recently appointed managing partner John White said he was confident the addition of Landwell would add about 10 per cent to the firm’s fee income immediately. He declined to reveal the law firm’s revenues.

Mr White said Landwell’s relationship with PwC and their joint clients would continue at Beauchamps. “This move greatly strengthens our professional capacity when it comes to corporate law and regulatory affairs.”

Eddie Evans, a founder of Landwell Solicitors here, who joins Beauchamps as a partner, said he was “excited” about the prospects of joining a full-service law firm.

“Our focus has been in providing transaction, regulatory and structuring advice to a wide range of national and international clients, including many clients shared with PwC, and we intend to continue that focus in Beauchamps,” he said.

Explaining the rationale for the combination, Ronan Murphy, senior partner at PwC, said the deal would provided an “ideal platform” for Landwell to “grow and prosper”. He said PwC would continue to “work closely” with Landwell on mutual clients.

Last month, Beauchamps announced the launch of a new specialist outsourced claims handling service called hbk.
