Two sons of Dr Tony Ryan who are also non-executive directors of Ryanair have each sold more than £9 million (€11.4 million) worth of Ryanair shares. The airline disclosed last night that Declan Ryan and Cathal Ryan each sold 1.17 million shares on Monday at €9.80 each. Following the share sale, both Declan and Cathal Ryan each retain 13.93 million Ryanair shares which are worth €131 million at yesterday's closing price of €10.25. Their father, Dr Tony Ryan, owns 8.4 million Ryanair shares (2.4 per cent of the total) worth €86.4 million.
The biggest individual shareholder is chief executive Michael O'Leary whose 30 million shares (8.6 per cent of the total) are worth €307.5 million at yesterday's closing price.
