Stratus Computer, a US multinational with worldwide manufacturing headquarters located in Blanchardstown, has announced it is now providing backup to 20 million mobile phone subscribers around the globe.
The company employs more than 350 people in Ireland, and is the most widely-used computer-based platform for Home Location Registers (HLR). HLRs comprise a centralised subscriber database of telephone numbers for mobile phone operators. They contain any of the information necessary to locate a subscriber at any given time.
Ranked in the top 10 of Irish-based computer exporters, Stratus markets its systems to a range of industries in more than 60 countries.
