IADT students have shown a particular talent for animation - for three years running, an animation student has won IADT's student of the year prize, through attaining the highest marks overall in academic and practical work.

Recent graduate Donal Nolan has gone on to do post-production work on Die Another Day, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Jackie Chan's Shanghai Nights. Another graduate, Alan Eddie, is RTÉ's webmaster.

A group of animation graduates - called DADDY - took the Galway Animation Festival top award, with three other IADT students taking prizes as well in recent years.

Another group, called Delicious, creates music videos that have been shown on MTV, RTÉ, UTV and Japanese television and many festivals.

Others work as animators for Irish, American and European companies.
