NOT at lot of people know this, but yesterday was "Take Our Daughters to Work Day" in the City of London.

Designed, say the organisers, to get girls "to think more broadly about their careers", the scheme encouraged dads working in the financial sector to bring their 11 to 15 year old daughters on to the dealing floors and into the boardrooms.

There is, say the organisers, "no record" of any participant causing financial loss on a visit. Well there's always a first time...
