HTC Desire, €119 on postpay from Vodafone

HTC’s latest handset is yet another challenger to the iPhone. The Android phone has a 3.7in LED display, which is bright, responsive and perfect for web browsing, viewing images and watching video. It has pinch to zoom and also supports Flash content. A decent video and still camera have been included.

The processor is faster than that of the current iPhone model – a 1GHZ Snapdragon chip, the same as the Nexus One, which HTC also make for Google – and it can multi-task without so much as a flicker of complaint.

Battery life is decent enough if you remember to close the apps you aren’t using. However, this brings us to the one drawback of the Android platform – currently there are no paid apps in Ireland, although there is talk of this being opened up later this year. Brando Slim Bluetooth keyboard, €29

If you have a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device you might need this keyboard. Built to work with a range of mobile devices and laptops, the sleek and slim Brando Slim Bluetooth keyboard has shrunk the average keyboard to portable proportions – about the size of an iPhone, to be exact. It has a built-in rechargeable battery that allows you to stow it easily and take it on the move.

The list of devices it works with is impressive; along the compatibility for Windows operating systems from 2000 up to the latest Windows 7 and Mac OS, it will also work with Symbian S60, Windows Mobile, and Apples latest device, the iPad.

A handy portable replacement for the regular sized Apple Bluetooth keyboard, the device is light enough to take on the road, weighing in at a measly 70g.

Mili iPhone Projector,€300

With so much media to share, the screen on portable media devices doesn’t always do it justice. But there are alternatives – including the Mili iPhone Projector. The device allows you to project photos and videos contained on your iPhone or iPod on to the nearest suitable surface .

Despite its small size, the projector packs a visual punch. It has a maximum projection of 70 inches, integrated speakers and even a remote control. Charging through USB will give you 1.5 hours of viewing, but you can get additional juice from a standard wall socket. The device has an AV in/out connection so aside from your Apple accessories the projector will also work with a PC, DVD player or video player. The projector has a small stand too, making it the ideal accessory.
