Dublin's Digital Hub added 35 companies in one of its busiest years ever, creating 150 new jobs and bringing the total number of companies located at the hub up to 89. The enterprise cluster, which consists of eight buildings located in the Liberties area of Dublin city, is now forecasting that more than 700 people will be employed within the digital cluster by the end of 2015.

Companies which joined the hub during the year include the international online event management and planning business Eventbrite and PriceSpy, an online shopping product and price comparison service. Athena Media, a transmedia production and consultancy company, also returned in 2014 to The Digital Hub after a brief hiatus, having started out at The Digital Hub in 2004.

Companies previously established and operating within the hub also expanded during the year, including Xwerx, a user experience design agency, which moved to new office spaces to accommodate its growing teams.

Gerry Macken, CEO, The Digital Hub, said that 2014 was one of the busiest years for the hub and is looking forward to further growth.

“We hope and plan to grow further in 2015, staying at the forefront of digital technology in Ireland,” he said.

The Digital Hub will complete the refurbishment of a 19th Century Grainstore building in the second half of the year, which will provide additional office space, while further buildings at 1 Crane Street and 7 & 8 Thomas Street are also due to be refurbished by the end of 2015.
