Microsoft named best multinational workplace in Europe

Software company wins Great Place to Work Accolade for fifth year running

Microsoft has once again been voted the best place to work in Europe.

Software company Microsoft has been voted the best place to work in Europe for the fifth successive year.

The Great Place to Work list, which is based on data drawn from 550,000 employees in more than 2100 companies, also featured other Irish-based companies including Diageo (in 7th place), Quintiles (8th), eBay (12th), EMC (13th) and SAP (21st).

Microsoft topped the list of Best Multinational Workplaces while Finnish company Futurise topped the list of Best National Companies. Four Irish companies also made it onto this list, including Topaz Energy, software company Version 1, advertising and marketing company Core Media and property management company, Euro Car Parks.

Microsoft Ireland managing director Cathriona Hallahan said the company encourages staff to look ahead to the future and develop progressive ideas and technologies that will someday change the world.

Microsoft has more than 13,000 employees in Europe, in countries including Ireland, the UK, France, Austria, Germany, Greece, Poland and Spain.
