Alto's Adventure is an "App Store Best of 2015" and deservedly so. On the surface it is a snowboarding runner: the player progresses by snowboarding endlessly across snowy slopes. The magic lies in the beautifully rendered wintry landscapes that change as day turns to night and the skies are illuminated by the sun, stars and occasional thunderstorm.

The goal is to get your eponymous hero as far as possible while gathering up as many lost llamas as he can. While he is reclaiming his flock there is the opportunity to earn coins that can buy protections for the various perils along the way.

Alto has to avoid rocks, fire, chasms and more while racking up fancy tricks including flips and boardslides. This is perfect for the season that’s in it: appreciate the gorgeous snowscapes as you play while waiting for the turkey to cook.
