RTE has announced its top 10 advertisers of 1999. Predictably, multinationals dominate on television with Unilever, Master Foods and Procter & Gamble taking the top three slots. On radio things are reversed, with Irish companies dominating the top 10. Telecom Eireann/ Eircom and Esat/Esat Digifone are numbers one and two with Unilever, Bank of Ireland, the National Lottery, Independent Newspapers and Irish Permanent next in line.
A £1 million (€1.27 million) campaign to promote the Independent Directory starts this week on radio and outdoor, with Irish International handling the media and a small new agency, The Marketing Department, handling the creative side.
