Ho hum, another day. You get up, head for the shower, hit the waterproof radio, lash on some shampoo, mumble along to the music. Now the music stops, and two imbeciles who believe themselves to be "radio personalities" are chirping inanely. Time to switch stations.
You lunge for the dial, can't find any decent music. Talk, talk, talk. Interviews with a man who wrote a book about space invaders; a woman who thinks if you can speak you can write a great novel; a retired Faroe Islands politician who has written his memoirs . . .
Enough is enough. You try to turn the radio off. The shampoo stings your eyes. In pain, you grope about, still can't find the off button. You reel backwards, stumble, crack your head on the way down, wake up in hospital where the nurses are on strike.
If only you had bought the shower CD player, none of this would have happened. Just pop the CD into the waterproof slot, hang it off the shower, and listen to shock-jock-free, ad-break-free music of your choice.
The waterproof CD player will be available from November at Brown Thomas department stores, £200 (€254), or can be bought online from www.sharperimage.com for $189 (€181).
