These include live register and consumer confidence figures, as well as private-sector credit data. Economists are expecting bad news on all fronts.

Meanwhile, HICP figures for the euro zone due out on Thursday are likely to put the spotlight on the European Central Bank's inflation concerns.

On the results front, Ryanair releases its first quarter figures today while AIB's half year results are due out on Wednesday.
