Total Produce reports rise in executive pay

Fruit and vegetable distributor Total Produce paid chairman Carl McCann total remuneration of €623,000 last year, the company's annual report shows. The figure was unchanged from 2011.

Of this package, €173,000 was a performance-related award.

Chief executive Rory Byrne saw his total pay rise from €897,000 in 2011 to €906,000 last year. Mr Byrne's package included a €324,000 performance-related bonus, as well as a €151,000 pension contribution.

Director of financial strategy and development Frank Gernon received €559,000 last year, of which €130,000 was a performance-related award, as well as a €63,000 pension contribution.

Finance director Frank Davis received €588,000, of which €193,000 was a performance-related award, as well as a €90,000 pension contribution.

The company’s two non-executive directors were paid €72,000, the same level as in 2011.

Total revenue grew 11.2 per cent to €2.8 billion, with adjusted Ebita up 21.4 per cent to €54.6 million. The strong growth in the year was assisted by contributions from acquisitions.
