ICS Computing, which has its headquarters in Belfast, has said its annual turnover has increased to €18 million from €15 million during the year to the end of March last.

Operating profits rose to €1.8 million from €1.3 million.

The outsourcing specialist now employs 250 people at offices in Belfast, Dublin and in Britain. It has benefited from two high-profile public sector contracts in recent months. It is developing a €9 million system for the Northern Ireland Rates Collection Agency to support revaluation of properties.

With partner Steria it has also landed a €30 million contract to provide an electronic document records management (EDRM) system for the Northern Ireland Civil Service. ICS said this is the largest EDRM contract of its kind currently under way in western Europe. Managing director David Mawhinney also said the company had seen strong demand for its payroll products in Britain.
