BRITISH factories produced slightly more goods in January but the output trend remains flat, official figures showed. Output increased by 0.3% in the month slightly more than expected in the City - after a 0.8% fall in December, according to the Central Statistical Office. But over the latest three months compared to the previous three - considered a better guide to the underlying trend than volatile monthly figures - it was down by 0.6%.
